Vacation Rentals Pacific City About
Home » About

I started this page as a central hub for information regarding regulation on short term rentals in rural Tillamook County, specifically Pacific City.

Pacific City has the majority of STRs, and produces the majority of TLT funding in the County, yet is lumped in the regulation of the whole County.

As a whole, PC has very few violation calls, issues with STRs, and has been happily renting vacation homes for many years. The beachfront neighborhoods were designed for visitors.

  • I have been involved with managing vacation rentals in Pacific City since the 90s, but have owned and managed Kiwanda Coastal Properties since 2008.
  • I want to advocate for homeowners who choose to share their homes with vacationers. Also, for vacationers who wish to spend their money in our community, and who frankly need some nature & beachtime in their lives. I like to represent small, affordable cabins, and luxury ocean-front homes because I think there is a need for the spectrum of visitors.
  • I believe that vacation homes are an endless source of income generation for our community. I am happy to share the roster of local services we hire & recommend on a daily basis.
  • Pacific City is my hometown. I know the community has changed and grown. As has every community and every town that is worth visiting. We need more public service, amenities, resources, and activities for our community. I believe we can harness tourism dollars to enhance the local experience for residents and visitors.
  • We need to encourage small operators. Kiwanda Coastal Properties is a locally owned and managed small, woman-owned family business. We want to re-invest in the community, pay our team well, and encourage public involvement.
  • Individual STR owners are mostly families who love our town, and want to be a part of things. Individual owners are steadfast in their home-care,  make our neighborhoods look more beautiful, and make sure things are perfect for our visitors. They deserve representation and appreciation.
  • Extra regulation will run 'good players' out of our community. Who will be left? People who are wealthy enough and do not have to share their homes with visitors. How does this enhance our community and economy?
